We are still looking for members to step up and take a position on our Board of Officers! You can help make a difference. Contact Jamie or any other member of the Board of Officers if you would like to run for a postion. Elections will be held on April3, 2013. You will need to complete Officers Training by July 1, 2013.

Thank you to the people that took the time to enjoy our visit from Moose International's James Henderson the Supreme Governor in January. It was an honor to have him visit our Lodge. The food was good and the chocolate fountain we had for desserts was a big hit. Michael Huffman the Magician had the crowd both in stitches and amazement as he brought Vegas quality magic to our Lodge. I liked the way he included James Henderson into his act and teased the host of the chocolate fountain as a "chocolate fountain security guard." He also brought other guest up on the Moose Lodge stage including Mike Eiler from the Power 96 radio station here in Faribault. Special thanks to Gordy Kosfeld from KDHL radio who interviewed James Henderson on his AM Minnesota program. It was a great promotion for our Organization.

Free Will donation jars and the umbrella hanging from the social quarters ceiling are now in place. All donations received from this fund are for the Children's Easter Egg Hunt which will be held at our Lodge on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00p.m. We hope to see lot's of kids and their families for this annual event!

Poultry Bingo will be held in our Lodge on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Wear something green and also enjoy corn beef and cabbage along with Irish dessert and Irish potatoes. This will be served up from 12:00p.m. to 6:00p.m.

It is always a sad time for me when the dart league comes to a close. It is about my only form of getting out to relax and enjoy time with some of the members of the lodge. Maybe I will have to pick up horseshoes this summer for the first time. I did try my luck at the indoor horseshoe tournament this year with disappointing results (what to expect since I had not thrown a horseshoe since my teen years) Thank you to all of you members coming out to continue to support our Lodge!

As I write this letter Spring 2013 is just around the corner. I want to thank everyone that has been coming out and supporting your lodge and enjoying the events that he host. As most of you know we host several Sunday morning breakfast, home cooked meals on Thursday evenings, Steak & Shrimp or Walleye on a designated Saturday once a month.

If you haven't been out lately we have added two new 32" televisions where the menu board was located above the bar in the social quarters. These televisions have been a great addition to those that enjoy watching sporting events or other programming. "Bargo" has taken off really well on Friday nights nd had been very supportive. Some very nice prizes are available to win. Come check out what "Bargo" is all about

Some changes have been made in gambling. Jim "Frenchy" DeGezelle has been appointed to replace the resigning Sean David. Frenchy brings in some new fresh ideas associated with gambling such as a combined package of meat selections and using a Flare Tipboard versus the spinning wheel. He also has added a .50 cent Pull tab box on Friday nights.

At this time the of Officer's have elected to discontinue Karaoke due to lack of interest and participation. If anyone has any ideas on how to spark interest of getting folks out to the Lodge and making it a profitable event, we will entertain any request.

In May we will commence our 50th Anniversary of the Moose Lodge 2098 in Faribault, MN. We plan on holding special events throughout the year so watch your Bullhorn or better yet stop in the Lodge often to keep updated. WE WANT YOU HERE! If anyone out there has any old photos of the Moose Lodge or its former location or present location and would like to share them here at the Lodge, please see myself or Bonnie as we would like to put together a collage for a display. We will make sure you get them back.
