I would personally like to thank Kenny Hachfeld for “stepping up to the plate” and being kind enough to become our new Governor. Please be sure to welcome Kenny and congratulate him.
Thanks also to those of you who participated in helping out with the Heritage Days Parade float. All who participated had a great time and are already discussing plans for next year’s parade as well. It is a good way to let the public know more about whom we are and what we do as an organization.
In addition, we have a newly poured concrete deck out the back of our social quarters. When plans are finalized for the finishing of the project I would like to plan an opening celebration with some live entertainment to go along with it, so maybe by the mailing of our next issue of the Bullhorn we will have details! Be sure to come out and enjoy the nice weather on our new deck.
We also hope to have a beanbag tournament shortly or maybe have it become a weekly event here at the lodge. We hope to have more information soon for that as well.
We are blessed with a lot of property at our lodge, which I feel could be used for other events such as Frisbee golf or volleyball. If anyone has any ideas or would like to chair, an event as such please let me know.
Our last blood drive was a big success and we hope that they keep improving. It is nice to see many of the younger generations participating in such an important lifesaving gift. Thank you to Cora Langeslag and Bill Arendt for the help it was greatly appreciated. Blood donation is a passion for me, and it is such a simple thing to do, it takes so little time and helps so many other people. For those that have never done it before please stop out at our next blood drive on August 22, 2013. A special thanks to the other “first timers” that were there for our last blood drive. I hope you continue to give the gift of life.
Saturday, August 3, 2013, please come out and support our Lodge by coming out the Annual Family Picnic. We are planning a full afternoon of food, fun, and games. You can also stop by the social quarters to buy Women of the Moose raffle tickets for the drawing, which will be held the day of the picnic. They are all cash prizes! (We could all use some of that!) You can also check them out from the bartender on duty by booklets of 10 each and sell them to your family and friends.
Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the event, as I will be at We Fest so I will be selling lots of tickets to help support them. Hope to see you and your friends at the lodge soon!
